About Us

We are Doug and Jeannie.  We are early retirees, travelling Australia in our caravan.

We arrived in Australia in 2003 from "sunny" Scotland with our two boys and our dog and have embraced Australia as our home.  In that time we've done a lot of exploring of this wonderful country and found the joy in travelling the outback.

We first got the bug for the nomads way of life in 2014 when we had four wonderful months long service leave and we travelled extensively through the top end of Australia.  We knew then that we wanted more and started our plan - it wasn't a dream, it was a plan.

We’ve now sold our house have hit the road - we've been travelling since early 2018.  Our two adult kids and grandkids live in Melbourne, but we now call anywhere we park our 21 foot self-contained van home.

I have a background in administration and hospitality and Doug is an experienced and qualified arborist - he just loves trees!!  We are both interested in travelling, food, wine, 4WDing, photography, the flora and fauna of our great country, reading and bushwalking.
